AVALANCHE! Institute of Contemporary Art was founded in 2012 by Calgary-based artists Cassandra Paul and Nate McLeod. AVALANCHE! is dedicated to exhibiting exciting work by emerging Canadian artists, with an emphasis on experimental, site-specific, and installation-based practices. Through curated exhibitions, print editions, and special events, AVALANCHE! strives to present conceptually engaging and aesthetically resolved programming, ultimately aiming to contextualize the practices of Calgary-based artists on a national level.
In November of 2016, AVALANCHE! Institute of Contemporary Art closed its physical space, shifting away from an ongoing program of exhibitions in a permanent venue to a more flexible platform through which we plan to intermittently program an ongoing series of special projects.
No special projects are currently scheduled.
Limited edition prints designed by exhibiting artists and produced by the gallery to accompany each exhibition, AVALANCHE! Editions are available in editions of ten, and may be purchased in-gallery or online at avalancheavalanche.storenvy.com while quantities last.
